flag football & other happenings

we have officially started flag football. when i say we i really mean trey has started flag football.  he's one of the smallest on the team which is a first for us. they combined 1st and 2nd graders and his team has some big boys on it. His first game is this saturday and he has practice tonight.  i will get some pictures this weekend.  other than that we are in full swing with school.  elle has the teachers wrapped around her finger and has made a tons of friends. we had trey's sep's last week and he is doing amazing! poor brex doesn't know what to do with the kids gone. once the weather starts to cool down maybe we can do daily park visits to help the time go faster.  he's also getting his bottom molars and boy has it been rough.  cale has been getting better every day since his surgery. cale's mom has been staying with us during the weeks and the kids have been in 7'th heaven with the round the clock spoiling they have been getting 5 days a week. not to mention the incredible amount of help she has been to cale and i. we cannot thank her enough, it wouldn't have been possible to do this without her (and cales dad for generously sharing her with us for all this time). in fact we have been really blessed throughout this whole time of trial with both of our families pitching in with babysitting, visits to the hospital, and more offers to help than we can count. its during times like these that you really see the value of a supportive family and we are blessed to have a couple of great ones.

kindergarten

Elle is in kindergarten this year and loving it! I can't believe she is old enough to be going to school and Brex is definitely missing her while she's gone. In turn Elle can't wait for Trey to get home. We are so excited to see how she does this year and I know she'll have fun.

playing catch up

I finally got all my pictures loaded onto my computer, so now I can blog.  I haven't blogged in awhile and I've missed some key moments. So prepare for a long post.
First up is the 4th of July.
The 4th of July is Trey's favorite holiday due to the fireworks!  Sadly we missed the big fireworks by getting stuck out in the Artic Cat with a flat tire.  Luckily we had a few small ones that we let off and then he got a big show for the 24th of July and again at a baseball game that he and elle went too with their cousin zack. Here are some pictures of the kids throwing poppers.

Then Trey lost not 1 tooth but 2 teeth within a few days of eachother.

Next up was Cale's surgery. It's been one month and he is doing really well!  We have been extremely blessed and hope that he continues to get better. Thank you mom w. for watching and taking care of us! We really appreciate it and we love you so much!
Here are some pictures of the kids doing fun activities with their cousins that week we were up north.
Brex and cousin Abby
Hitting the pinata at zack's party
making pies for the pie fight!
swimming with my fishies!
After we got back into town while Cale would rest the kids and I would spend some time out back swimming.  It's a done deal I have 3 fishies and I love it!
awwwwww
i love my fishies!

Next up is Elle's birthday!  The big 5! Which means Kindergarten and she can't wait, she starts on Monday.  For her b-day we did a tinkerbell party and even the boys wore the little crowns. After presents, cake and ice cream we went swimming at the city pool.  It's been awhile since I've been there and I had a blast!!
she had a great day!

The week after that my family came down for the yearly trip to St. George.  My parents took Elle to see The Little Mermaid at Tuacan and she LOVED it!!!!  The kids spent 3 days swimming, swimming and swimming. We also fit in a bbq, shopping, laser tag and 3 birthdays! We were totally worn out by the weekend but it's a blast to share my birthday with my sisters and i wouldn't want it any other way!

I totally swiped these pictures from my mom and dad.
swimming at the pool, and playing at the splash pad.

this picture is totally random and i love it!

Finally we come to the first day of school for Trey.  I can't believe it's that time of year again and I think it was harder for me than him.

Surgery

This past monday cale had back surgery. They ended up doing a spinal fusion.  He's still in the hospital but is improving every day.  He has been such a trooper, and I love him so much! It's hard to see him struggle and be in so much pain but it will be worth it in the long run.

While we've been in the hospital the kids have been having a blast with my sisters.  I have the best sisters, they really have helped us out so much.  They so far have taken the kids miniature golfing, did  bumper boats and car racing. They have been to a couple of baseball games.  They had a pie fight, did a slip n slide and broke a pinata for their cousin zack's birthday.  Most importantly they have brought them to the hospital to see mommy and daddy.  They have been with them everyday, 24 hours a day for the past 4 days and they still aren't done playing.  Tomorrow it's off to Seven Peaks and then Saturday a baseball game bbq and fireworks. They have been amazing and  I want to tell them Thank-you, you will never know how much I love you guys!  I also want to tell our families how much we love you all and thank-you for everything! We really do have the best families ever!

do they come in 3's????

I'm sure you've all heard the saying "they come in 3's" i hope this isn't the case this time.  Last week we found out that Cale's grandpa well's had died. We are heading to his funeral today.  This morning I got a call from my mom. My cousin Hawley died this morning. Her funeral will be saturday or next monday.  It makes you start to wonder who will be next. Is the saying really true do deaths come in 3's???  Like I said before I hope not.
I didn't know cale's grandpa very well. He always complimented us on our kids and how lucky we were.  I hope he's happy.
Hawley sweet sweet Hawley.  She's been sick for awhile but it's a little too soon to lose her sweet spirit!  I know she's in a better place and for the 1st time in quite awhile I know she isn't sick.

Even though it's hard to lose family and loved ones, it's not the end.
So for now we want to say:
We will cry because you gone.
 We will laugh and cry
because of the memories that you have blessed us with.
We will miss you dearly each day, and know that
We love you and will see you again in heaven.

baseball, summer & cars 2

wow summer is flying by so fast! we have been super busy and are loving the down time with the kids.  trey kicked off the summer with his last few baseball games.  he loved playing and by the end of the season we had parents asking us how old he was and telling us how good he is at the game.  we were all sad when the season ended. we had gotten into a groove of heading to the ball fields every tues and sat for games and thurs for practices.  it made the weeks go by so fast and it was a blast to be outside.

the first weekend in june we headed up to lehi for my niece maggie's baby blessing and sealing!  it was also the first time that we got to meet her and she is such a doll!  the kids had a blast playing for days with their cousins and we had fun visiting with the fam.  while up there we went to a doctor for cale's back.  he is now scheduled to have back surgery on july 18th up at the new riverton hospital.  everyone keep your fingers crossed and a prayer in your hearts that this works!!!
now that summer is in full swing it is getting HOT! it's good ol' st. george weather and it's hard to keep the otter pops in stock at our house.  elle i think is living off those.

the kids have been to the city pool a couple of times with uncle dan and i am trying to get them into swimming lessons. we may have to wait and do the last session this summer.  with the warmer weather it's hard for the kids to play outside some days and so the fun has begun with them being indoors.  brex has gotten into the peanut butter, gotten stuck in our entertainment center, dumped out my sugar and loves to tease elle by pulling her hair.  i swear everyday i get to hear all the funny stories of what they've been up too and i tell you what cale by far has more patience than i do.

brex gets a kick out of wearing the mickey mouse ears!

last but not least in our house the count down was on for cars 2!!!! cale took the kids to go see it and trey loved it! i'll tell you what cars has been a huge hit with my kids and it's been so fun to see trey and elle count down the days til it came to the theaters.
