1 year ago & new......

a year ago yesterday i lost my grandma. she was one of the sweetest grandma's ever! i can't believe it's been a whole year, it's gone by so fast. i miss her a lot but know that she is out of pain and in a happier place. i also know that she is lookin' out for us and want us to be happy.

on that note onto the "new" portion of this post.

i am getting a new niece by the end of the week. she was born yesterday in maryland. my sister becca and her family have been chosen to adopt this sweet little girl. they are waiting to hear back from the agency for more information so that they can fly out to get here and bring her home. i can't wait to meet her!! i'm super excited for them and that our little guy will have someone his age to play with!! i will post pics when i get them from her.

8 years

happy anniversary to my hubby! even though it was yesterday i still had to get on and say that i am the luckiest girl in the world!!! what a great 8 years it's been and i can't believe how far we've come. i love you babe!!!

Here comes Santa Claus

it's a......

it's a boy!! we're all super excited! he wasn't shy at all and there are no questions as to what will be popping out! :) we got a picture of him with his mouth open and his foot right by his head. it's adorable, and amazing that you can get such a clear picture of them. the kids were in awe of being able to see it and to hear the heart beat. next up is coming up with a name. i think i may be a little out numbered in that department.

december

wow it's been a busy few weeks. i can't believe christmas is in less than 2 weeks and i still am not ready for it to be here. we did have my work christmas party on friday night. it was a lot of fun. we had pizza factory food, department skits and the wccc staff won the department of the year award for the city!! what a shock that was for us!! my lifeguards were amazing in their skit as syncronized swimmers on land. as soon as i get the video for it i will post it on here!!

the kids have been busy with preschool and every time we get a hint of snow trey goes crazy. he loves snow and in st. george you just don't get very much of it. we've decided that we are going to take the kids tubing up at brian head. i can't wait! they have their preschool christmas programs this thursday and friday and it will be sooo cute!

in baby news we find out what we are having on wed. we keep having to tell trey that there is a chance that it could be a girl. in his mind it is a boy and that is that. we will keep you all posted!!!

Thanksgiving

We were lucky and got to have 2 thanksgivings this year. One with cale's family and one with mine. We had cale's on the sunday before thanksgiving and the other on thanksgiving day. Both were fantastic and oh so yummy!!! I have been craving pumpkin pie and finally got my fill of it with those 2 days. It was so much fun to be able to spend time with both of our families and I know that the kids are going through withdrawls from not having anyone to play with. There is nothing better than family especially during the holidays.

Now it's time to go cut down a tree(since cale doesn't believe in fake trees) and get to decorating it. My job according to trey is to get the toys. Cale is incharge of the tree and daniel, trey and elle are incharge of the wrapping paper. I'm super excited for christmas because trey and elle are at an age where it is so much fun and their excitment for christmas is contagious. Hope you all enjoy your holidays.

what's new

So i haven't been the most diligent on the blogging front so i thought i would do a quick update. i am now almost 16 weeks and feel huge! i am definitely bigger now than i was with my other 2 kids at this point. i finally feel better but there are still things that make me sick and i don't know til after i've eaten it. my energy levels come in spurts and i feel like i could sleep forever. we still don't know what we are having and we still haven't come up with any names.

Elle is having a ball in preschool. she loves to play with all of the little girls and her best friends are lexie and sydney. she has discovered curlers. she wants her hair curly all the time now and doesn't mind sitting still while i put them in. we are getting ready to put her into gymnastics. she has a trial day next wed. i hope she likes it! she is still pure girl and had so much fun over halloween.

Trey my strong silent little guy is doing awesome! He too loves preschool and in fact both kids fight about whose turn it is to go everyday. He is becoming quite the athlete, there isn't a sport that he doesn't want to play. He loved halloween and it was so fun to watch him run from house to house trick or treating. He really wants a baby brother and wants to name him "Hockey".

Now for the rest. We did get a new car and love it!!! I trick cale into letting me take it to work all the time.:) Actually he makes it so I have to take it by parking the truck into the garage and having daniel park behind it. What a sweetie!! Really he is the best. We have had quite the past month and he's been so sweet through everything, including my massive mood swings,lol. I honestly don't know what I would do with out him. He brings me lunch every day, takes care of our kids, lets me sleep whenever I need too, cleans our house, makes me laugh til i cry and loves me no matter what!! love you babe!!

Well on one last note, I just wanted to say thanks to both of our parents. They have helped us out so much. whether it's babysitting for us or letting us stay at their homes and so much more. We love all of you and couldn't have asked for better parents and our kids have the bestest grandparents around!

We had a ball trick or treating with my family this year. the kids got more candy than they can handle.

the farm

tonight was so much fun! we headed over to staheli's farm and had a ball! trey was in heaven, he ran from place to place and couldn't get enough. we started out at the petting farm. trey petted the goats, the mini horses and of course we can't forget the pig. he did jump when the turkey's started to gobble. elle wouldn't touch any of the animals but had so much fun looking at all of them. from the animals we went to the slides and the big dirt pile.the kids took a train ride around the farm. then we took our hay ride to the pumpkin patch and trey picked out a pumpkin that he could carry. from there it was back to the slides and riding around on the stick horses. elle's favorite part was talking to the witch! we took our ride to the maze and trey was a great leader. he took us around til we got lost and then when he had to go potty we made it out super fast. cale was lost within minutes, he always tells me that he doesn't have any sense of direction and to tell the truth he doesn't. trey does though so he must have gotten it from me :) we made our way back and let the kids play for a little while longer. again i forgot my camera. so we have cell phone pics. they did turn out okay but we didn't get that many. enjoy!

3 really is a very magic number

3 is a magic number because we are having baby number 3 in april!!! we are super excited and can't wait for it to come. cale and the kids are hoping for a boy but we won't care if it is a girl. well trey might. :) we ask trey if he wants a brother or another sister and he tells us "ummmm a boy!" we will keep you posted on how things are going.

bike ride

trey has learned to ride his bike all my himself with no training wheels!!! he's such a big boy now and it only took 3 days to convince him that he didn't need the training wheels. now he rides like a pro!! way to go trey!!!

our little miss elle belle got her ears pierced this week. she woke up on wed. morning and told cale that she was getting her ears pierced. cale of course got on the computer and started showing her videos of other little girls getting their ears done. after watching them she wasn't so sure she wanted to get them done anymore but she didn't back down. note this isn't the first time she's mentioned getting them done.

trip one to claires: we got the earrings picked out and did all the paper work. the whole time she's saying she's getting them done. we get into the chair and ask if she's ready. her hands go up over her ears and she says "i'm not getting them done, i don't want my ears pierced." we ask her to make sure before we leave she's sure. we don't even clear the mall doors before she is asking to get them done again. we tell maybe we'll try again later. i go back to work and all cale hears about the rest of the day is "i want my ears pierced." are all girls so adamant when it comes to something that they want? cale strikes a deal with her that if we go to get them done she has to do it or else we will wait a few years before we will try again.

trip two to claires: we walk in ask elle if she is ready. "yes i want my ears pierced." get the earrings picked out again and tadaa! she's finally done! she picked out pink daisies and they do look adorable on her. She cried for a second but now has been so good about letting us clean them 3 times a day and hasn't played with them once. i'm glad that's over but i am not looking forward to the next thing that she puts her mind too. unless its riding a bike. :)

new artic cat

we took the kids out this weekend on the new artic cat that cales parents got and it was a total blast!! we would go down the hills and the kids would put their hands up like they were on a roller coaster!! trey was really funny, instead of putting his hands straight up he would put them out to the side. one of his hands would go right across elle almost as if he was protecting her, so cute! we had so much fun testing it out and can't wait til it gets a tad bit cooler to take it out more!!

i just realized that i didn't take a picture of the artic cat put i will and post it soon. it's a beauty!

playing store

i love it when kids use their imaginations. trey today decided that he wanted to open a store and play store. he set it all up and had treats to sell. it was sooo adorable. he would tell us that we needed to come to the store to buy something and then he would give us change. playing store isn't the only thing that they have come up with to play.
i guess every day they play boxing. both kids run into their rooms and come back dressed in shorts, no shirt and socks on their hands. they strip our bedsheets off and start circling around until trey throws a punch at elle, she goes down and he counts her out. then she says "i don't want to play anymore". i have yet to see this "boxing match" but cale says it's hilarious! it definitely explains why i always come home to no sheets on my bed and all of their clothes thrown on their bedroom floors.
i love that my kids are so imaginative and hope that they never change!

home

my sister shari is finally home after spending a scary week in the hospital. She lost her baby and had to have a d&c done well it didn't go so well and we almost lost her. She is a very brave woman who has a long road of recovery ahead but I know she will make it! we love you shari!

Things happen

I was told some very sad news last night and it breaks my heart. My sister lost her baby. Know one knows why and she may never know. But I know that there is something bigger and better out there for that baby. I have had friends that have lost their babies and seen all the suffering that they have gone through. It makes you wonder why? why them? why now? I'm glad that I can see the bigger picture and know that things happen for a reason. We may not understand the "why" right now but eventually we will. We love you sis, and are keeping you and your family in our prayers.

birthday fun

so anyone one that knows my family knows that aug is our month for birthdays. not all of aug. just the first week and a half. elle starts us out on the 4th, becca's the 5th, raquels the 10th, polly's the 11th and finally mine on the 12th! this year my parents and 4 younger siblings came down to st. george to celebrate! on monday we hit up the jumping jacks bounce house place. that was really fun, the kids ran to their hearts content. then we did some bowling. tues the birthday girls got pedicures and did some shopping. the guys of course went golfing and poor dan had to work all day. tues night we went to tuachan and saw footloose. it was good but not the best one that i've seen there. on wed we swam all day long, then played phase 10. we had the dan and cale comedy act going on while playing phase 10. I was laughing so hard that i was crying. the fam. left thurs. morning, elle started preschool and the kids had their yearly doctor appointments. now it's friday and trey had his first day of preschool and i'm back to work but all i can say is what a great birthday week it's been. thanks mom and dad for everything!

3 is the magic number

the magic number for today is 3. that's right folks my baby girl is 3 years old today. wow how time flies! elle is so excited for her birthday, that's all she's talked about for weeks. we've been asking her what she wants for her birthday and she told us " 2 fairies(tinkerbell) and $200! i think we can cover the 2 fairies but there is no way i'm giving her $200! she is the funniest kid ever! she keeps us rolling with the things she says and with her sassy attitude. she is also the sweetest little girl you'll ever meet. she always tell me that she wants to hold me. really she wants me to hold her but it's cuter how she says it. she can be a total daddy's girl and then turn into a fighter. it's not a rare thing in our house to have both elle and trey gang up on us. especially when one of them is in trouble. i love the fact that elle is sassy but sad that she is growing up so fast. here's to another year with my baby girl! happy birthday elle belle!!!

weekend fun

this past weekend we went up to midway to spend some time with cale's family. it was so much fun! the kids had a blast playing with all of their cousins. cale had fun golfing and playing ping pong with ty, and i totally loved the weather and company! we took the kids swimming, and to the movies. elle was fearless when it came to the swimming. she would run and jump in and try to dodge cale(he was trying to catch her). We laughed so hard when maxx and ty had their boxing match downstairs. i don't know who won but i'm thinkin' they both had some pretty good shots at the other one. we did a little rock band, some football,and ate great burgers and chicken(cobi it was awesome chicken. i definitely need the recipe.)also we can't forget the beloved mountain dew cake that madi made!:) thanks cobi and burt for letting us crash at your pad!

just when we thought the weekend was over, we had a surprise visit from cale's cousin charmaine and her adorable family. they are up from texas on a little vacation and wanted to see us. cale, the kids, charmaine, chris and their two kids all went swimming and then we had dinner and root beer floats. it was so great to see them and to catch up. what a great weekend it is when you get to spend it with those that you love!

I also have to put this great piece of news in, my sister becca just found an adoption agency that they want to go through and they could have a baby in 3-6 months if everything goes right!!

July 4th

We had a lot of fun over the 4th of july weekend. we went to price on friday and took the kids to the wave pool! they were fearless and had so much fun. trey couldn't get enough of body surfing with us. elle and codi loved having the waves push them all over. lucky for us we had my brother brandon and sister paula there to keep up with them. That night we had a picnic with my parents at the dinosaur park. trey loves that park. some random guy came up and asked if the kids wanted to go chase some parachutes that he was shooting off in the air. trey ended up with the biggest parachute, he was so proud but he gave it to codi so she would have one too. the next day we headed to lehi. the kids had a blast with zack and codi. they played in the water outside, went to cabelas(sp?), and of course did fireworks. i think we have a couple of pyro's in our future :) i got to go shopping with my mom and sis becca and we had a great bbq at my grandpa's. we finally got to meet our nephew coleman and he's such a cutie pie!! cale and i were the big winners of the pvc pipe game. i have no idea what the game is called but we have a blast playing it when the fam gets together. my dad called it when he said that cale and i lure everyone into thinking that they are going to win and the BAM we win. cale's quite the trash talker and had everyone rolling with laughter.my mom had us giggling when she did the hokey pokey with the kids. we had so much fun and it was great to see my fam, even if we didn't get to see everyone.

Baseball

Today is my brother Dan's birthday so we treated him to a roadrunners baseball game tonight! It was so much fun. They asked Dan if he wanted to go down on the field and throw snowballs(it was Canadian night). They clocked how fast he could throw one and he got 46 mph. he won a gift card for some Hawaiian shaved ice. I haven't been to a baseball game in forever. Elle loved the mascot and then didn't want to go near it. Trey had fun for the first few innings and then went and bounced in the big bounce house that they had set up. In the 7th inning it started to rain, it felt soo good, and the roadrunners won. We had a blast and will definitely go again!

june in a nutshell

okay so here is how june has gone for us.

1 week of fevers
2 ear infections
2 eye infections
1 trip to the doctors office
1 dentist visit and 2 kids on laughing gas
10 days of swimming lessons for 1 little princess
1 night of volleyball for mommy 2 softball games that the kids watched.
2 games of bowling for the whole fam. that was a hoot!!
8 days of working out.(i know not soo good.)
2 birthdays in the fam.
3 anniversaries
0 nights to bed by 9pm and loads by 12am.
9 days of summer preschool and
0 date nights.

June isn't quite over yet but i'm thinking it's time for a vacation. Here are some pics of elle in swimming lessons. she had so much fun!

UP

Pixar has done it again! we took the kids to see the movie Up and it is adorable! the biggest laugh came when it was dead silent in the theater and elle decides that it's time to do her fake laugh. It was hilarious! everyone busted up laughing and started to say how cute it was and how good she was being. if you have kids that will sit through a movie,(elle almost made it) then i would definitely go and see this one. heck even if you don't have kids go and see it! it is a movie that will be added to our collection when it comes out!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRE TRE!!

it's trey's birthday today!! trey is a big boy with an even bigger heart! he has an iron clad conscience, and has the protective big brother roll down. He's my baby boy who is growing up so fast. He has had quite the year this past year, with starting preschool, getting his golf swing down and having his first set of stitches. he is all boy and keeps us on our toes. he loves to play, laugh and tease. we are truly blessed to have him in our home and can't wait to see what next year brings. happy 4th birthday trey!

preschool graduation

well it's that time of year when graduation comes around. trey had his preschool graduation tonight and all the little kids did such a great job! trey had a little bit of stage fright so we took off early and went swimming instead. i can't blame him, i don't like to get up in front of a bunch of people and try to perform. at least he tried and for that i am super proud of him!!! congrats trey trey!!!

unexpected hair cuts

well one of the days that i have been dreading has come. elle has cut her own hair!! lucky for me it wasn't too bad and will actually blend-in with the rest of her hair. i have to admit that elle has beautiful hair. it's naturally highlighted, straight and looks like we put layers in it.(we've never done anything to her hair.) it's long and she loves to swish it back and forth. this isn't the best picture but it gives you an idea. it will grow back but i hope she doesn't do it again.

loads of fun

we started our easter out by going to the duckie drop that my work put on! every kid got a rubber duckie that was dumped from a huge dump bucket filled with water. after they got their duck they turned them in for prizes. they each got a beach ball, and sack of candy with gift cards to del taco, chili's and dominos. trey got parachute bunnies with his and elle got sidewalk chalk. not bad for grabbing a duck out of the water. after that we went to cale's parents house. we had two easter eggs hunts one with just our kids and then one with maxx and ryder later in the day. the kids were super stoked about gathering the eggs that were hidden in the yard. it was so funny and trey was such a sweetheart, he gave elle some of his eggs. we had an awesome ham dinner and then egg salad sandwiches that were sooooo yummy later that night. it was a much needed day of fun and relaxation.


trey got his stitches taken out lastnight and was such a big boy about it! his battle wound looks like it's healing just fine and the doc. said that there will be a tiny scar.

stitches

Trey had to get stitches tonight on his eyebrow. He was at daycare going down the slide when he hit his head(that's what he said). The crazy thing is that he didn't say a word to anyone after he did it. Elle led the ladies to the scene of the accident telling them that he had colored all over his face. Needless to say it wasn't crayon or marker but blood running down his face because of the cut on the corner of his eye.
Cale took him to our doc. night clinic. They gave him 2 stitches and said that he would probably have a scar from it. He was a super brave boy. The docs. were shocked when he didn't even flinch or cry from the shots & stitches. Cale also got Treys ear checked out while there and his ear infection is completely gone, woo hoo!!!

On a side note, trey had a collection of ladybugs that we let go yesterday and now he has a caterpillar that is in it's cocoon. It will be fun to see it turn into a butterfly!!
