easter

we had a great easter. the kids got to do 2 egg hunts, 1 pinata and of course they got tons of loot in their baskets.  brex was hilarious he found an egg cracked it opened and started chowing down on jelly beans.  during the pinata he made his way to where the candy dropped and grabbed one piece and was happy as a clam!  trey loves the hunt for the eggs and the hitting of the pinata.  elle loves coloring and decorating the eggs.  they all love eating the candy.  to finish off our holiday we had our chit chat about what easter is really about.  we've been kind of talking about it all week.  last year for christmas my grandpa gave us a book about the resurrection and last week we pulled it out.  i sat down with the kids and went through the pictures with them.  what an amazing feeling it is to take the time to teach our little ones about christ.  they have such an understanding of him and they never cease to amaze me with what they know.  i am so grateful for each of my children, they truly are gifts from heaven!

Colorado River

We are having a little vacation this weekend down in Moab. There's been hiking, golfing, hot tubing, playing outside and wading in the Colorado River.Here are a few pictures of us by and in the River.

Clark County Fair

It's been a long time since Cale and I have been to a fair.  We took Trey and Elle to one this past weekend.  It was their first time going to a real fair and had a blast!  Trey loved all of the carnival games and both of them loved looking at the new chicks and baby pigs!  They got to ride ponies and pet the animals.  They went on rides, threw darts at balloons, ate pizza and had snow cones.We all got sunburned and were worn out and all in all we had a true fair experience!

Brex had his 1 year old check up yesterday.

Weight: 24lbs 12 oz. 75%

Height: 31 inches long 90%

He can say uh oh, i'm done, dada(loves to say dada) momma, hi, and a quite a few other words.  he can shake his head "No" and he climbs like a monkey!  he has a red hot temper at times and can be super sweet!  his personality is bigger than life! he can wave, walk, talk, and has master giving kisses than biting you before you can move.  he loves to tease and  loves to laugh.  as i am writing this post he has climbed onto our computer desk and is shaking his head "no" with a big ol' grin on his face! oh the life he lives!

Friday was my baby boys birthday he is now a big 1 year old. He was super cute when we were doing his cake. He got mad at Cale because Cale wouldn't let him grab the candle. Than he kept looking at us like we were crazy when we gave him free rein to his cake. We finally had to put him in his high chair for him to go nuts on his cake. He kept grabbing the sides and picking it up. Than he smashed his forehead into the top of it. He also threw cake at Trey and we all laughed really hard. After bath time came present time. Trey and Elle were big helpers in opening the presents. He got a race car track and a riding fire truck. He loves cars and anything boy! It was a super chill birthday and I still can't believe he is one!!

who do your kids remind you of?

The other night cale and i were talking about the kids and how we see ourselves in them.

Cale thinks that Elle has a lot of my mannerisms. I think she's a lot like him, quick to laugh and pretty easy going. What's funny is that I think she's more like Cale and Cale thinks she's more like me.

Trey on the other hand I think takes after me. Cale says he takes after him. Trey is quiet and really tender hearted. So he really takes after both of us. Just different sides of us.

Brex well he's an all in one duplicate of Elle. He's a fire cracker to say the least! He does have some of my qualities and more of Cale's.

I also see different family members in them. Sometimes I see looks and sometimes I see mannerisms in them. Sometimes I look at Elle's eye's and see my dad's eyes. Trey has mannerisms that come from Cale's grandpa. He will slap his forehead. Brex has that temper that I have to say comes from both sides :)

I am curious to hear what those that know my kids have to say. So Family and Friends tell me who do you think my kids take after?
