project blanket

when we were getting ready to have elle, i had my mom make trey a blanket that was a tad bit bigger than a regular baby blanket. it is green with soccer balls and yellow stars. trey has loved this blanket and uses it at nights to sleep with instead of a big quilt. it's long enough that it covers him completely but he doesn't feel overwhelmed with it's size. well this past week that blanket got a big ol' rip in it. the batting is starting to come out and this morning he had managed to flip it inside out sometime during the night.

we've been talking for a litte while about making him a new one and when we ask him about a new one, he tells us that he wants the exact same material as his old one. holy moly how am i going to do that considering it's been over 3 years since my mom made this one. we have been on the search for it and my mom found it in pink.(i don't think that's going to work.) now that his blanket has ripped it's a race to find something that will work and make him a new one. we got lucky!!! we found a green soccer ball pattern that trey likes and this is how it turned out! we tied it and cale's mom did the edges and from what i can tell he really does like it! yippee!

that's a thumbs up just after it was tied.

this is the 1st blanket that cale has ever done.

the finished product! it looks so much like his old one.

yeah for us it only took a couple of hours to tie and a couple hours to bind. now it's on to making one for elle and the baby.
