lions and tigers and mermaids???
yesterday i played hookie from work j/k i actually got to take most of the day off because i am working on sat. anyway we decided to take the kids to vegas to have some fun. here we live only a few hours away and we've never taken them down there. we went to silverton to the big aquarium there and saw stingrays, sharks, fish, and this is where elle got to see the mermaid. in the afternoons a girl dresses up in a mermaid costume and dives into the tank with all the fish and entertains the little kids. elle loved the mermai.d she played peek a boo with her and gave her a high five and knuckles and was super entertained. they also have a big pro bass shop here and trey and cale had fun checking out all the stuffed animals and gadgets that they have. they've got a little shooting range with toy guns and the kids(by kids i really mean cale :) had a blast!! we also got to see some ducks in their water feature. this place was great! next we headed to MGM grand to see the lions habitat. they weren't out because of feeding time so we walked on over to their rainforest cafe and ate dinner. this is where the kids got to eat during a thunder storm and got their balloon hats. trey's was a pirate hat and elle's a tiara. they also have a ton of fish tanks all over and a water feature that had rainbows. it was like eating in a rainforest for sure! after dinner we went back to the lions habitat and they had a male and female lion out. we got to walk right under the female lion while she was chewing on a bone. it's crazy that you can get that close to one. next it was off to M&M world. that's right folks we went to the world of m&m's and got to see the kyle busch race car and i don't believe i've ever seen so many m&m's before in my life. we went up all 4 stories and looked outside at all the lights and all the people that were underneath us. i think the kids went into overload with everything that they got to see yesterday. I mean when you look at it they got to see:lions, stingrays, sharks, fish, mermaids, duck, airplanes, and tons of other thing. they also had a blast going on the escalators. over all it was fun and not to shabby for a 5 hour trip to vegas!! i will post more pics later.

time gone
Where has all the time gone? It seems like it was just yesterday when we found out that we were having Trey. Now I'm getting asked to send sarah my email address cause she's planning our 10 year high school reunion. Good grief has it really been that long?!!!! Cale and I just had our 7th anniversary and now he's getting ready to turn 30 in the next few months. Both our kids will be in preschool in a little while and I'm thinkin' it's time to seriously think about potty training Elle. What happened to my two little tykes that were babies, not a little boy and little girl?!!! Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited that my kids are at the ages they are but sometimes, and I mean just sometimes, I miss having them be babies. It seems the days and weeks just blurr together and I don't have a clue what I've done with all of that time. I hope that most of it has been spent with my kids and hubby but I'm not sure. I do know that my house is a disaster and that we have toys all over the place, so my guess is that we must be having some fun! I just wish that time would slow down a little bit so that I can enjoy my family more!!!
trey as a baby i think he was about 4 or 5 months old
elle about 10 or 11 months she really didn't like grass!
here they are together a few months ago.

not again...
here we go again, i swear we were all just sick last week and now both kids have eye infections. i'm really hoping it's not pink eye but knowing our luck it will be. elle has it in both her eyes and trey in only one. cale has a major head cold, can't get out of bed and hurts so bad that it's ridiculous. we were up all night and now i need to head to work for a busy day. i don't mean to complain but geez can't we catch a break here?!!!

sledding
Wow what a year it's been so far. We were up north this past weekend for my grandma's funeral, it was so beautiful and I know that my grandpa was pleased with how everything went. We got up there on sat. and met up with all of my brothers and sisters (minus kelz) to go sledding. So off we went to get the kids fitted with some snow gear since my kids have none what so ever. Lucky for me shari has 3 kids and had plenty of stuff for us, she even had boots!! So between becca and shari my kids looked like they belonged up north with all the snow. Anyway out into the cold windy day we went looking for a great time and boy did we find it! All the kids had a blast going down with all the different aunts and uncles and some were even brave enough to go down by themselves. Poor lexie lou went down by herself when no one was looking and went off the jump. She face planted and ended up with a scratched up face. A little while later codi went down by herself and hit a couple of bumps and out she flew into the snow face first. After tons of fun and a few tears, I decided that all of the gibsons needed to go down at the same time so we loaded up on all the sleds and on the count of 3 took off. becca and I were on the same sled and she fell off the back. What a crack up we were with everyone watching as 7 of us kids took off down an icy hill (polly was in the car). My mom recorded it and I have yet to see what it all looked liked but my dad said it was quite a site to see!! Just wait until we have all 9 of us going down an icy hill than that will be a site to see.

grandma
my beautiful grandma passed away on monday night!!! she was the best grandma that any kids could ask for and more! she had been struggling for a few years and now she is pain free. having a few days to look back on all of the memories that i got to share with her makes me so grateful that i had someone so special in my life. one of my favorite memories is when i was in preschool. my grandma was the secretary at the high school where i went to preschool at and one day we were having jello jigglers for our treat and i wouldn't touch them let alone eat one. so they went and got my grandma to come and coax me into eating one. she tried and i refused, she mentioned that they jiggled down your throat and that's what terrified me. after when she came to pick me up she gave me money to get a treat out of the vending machine. she often picked me up and always gave me money for a treat. it was so much fun having grandma live a couple of blocks away. we would always ride our bikes down to her house and if my mom couldn't find us that was usually where we were at and she knew it. it was hard for us gibson kids when my grandparents moved to lehi. we had such a strong relationship with them that we didn't let a little move to lehi stop us from seeing them whenever we could. i would spend a week every summer with them and i remember my grandma taking me to snow white and she had put packages of m&m's in her purse for us to snack on during the movie man she was sneaky!! most of all i am so grateful for the time that i have had with her and for the time that my kids have had with her. the last time we were with her i got a picture of elle and my niece codi standing next to grandma jones. what a great treasure that is for me and for my daughter. i love you grandma jones and i will miss you very much!!
