Duckie Drop

It's Easter time and that means Duckie Drop time.  Every year the kids get so excited to go to this event.  I know they love the swimming aspect of it but it's the falling ducks out of the bucket that they love!  Brex fished a duck out of the water and got to keep it.  Trey and Elle both grabbed a duck that they turned in for prizes.  Uncle Dan came with us because it's tradition that he comes.(usually I am the one running the event, and he would help Cale with the kids.)   We all had a blast and that's what makes it worthwhile.

the easter bunny was even there.  brex was having none of it.

The curls are gone.

We made the decision to cut Brex's curls.  It was a hard decision and one we have been tossing around for weeks.  His hair had gotten to the point where you could do it and it looked adorable but than in 5 mins it was a total poof.  If was sad to see the curls go and even more shocking was how he looked with short hair.  His hair is still curly so now we are going to let it grow out again.

state swim, dogtown and soccer

Wow it's been a busy month. Besides being sick with the flu to strep all within a week we started Feb. off by going up north to watch auntie Paula swim at State!  She did an amazing job and their relay broke the school record. It was also my dad's birthday so we all went out to Sizzlers to celebrate! While at sizzlers Brex gave everyone a show by climbing on top of the table and dancing. I know you are thinking "where was she" I was helping Trey get his drink.  Everyone got a big kick out of it and thought he was so cute and funny.  I was a little embarrassed to say the least but it got worse about 10 mins after that he decided to puke all over. Needless to say I left after that.

We came back home still sick and busy as ever.  The kids had SEP's which they are doing amazing, we have gone swimming, Brex has been sick for the past 2 months with everything from the common cold to the flu to strep, and mommy worked the Dogtown half marathon 9k and 5k last weekend.  We also started soccer.  The first games were today and both Trey and Elle's teams won.  Trey played a little bit of goalie and Elle was in the mix of it all.

Catch up

I am missing my cord to my camera and can't upload our christmas pictures, so this post is to play catch up and maybe soon I will be able to post pictures.

This year we went to Tuacan and saw the live nativity and Santa. We also hosted our own little Christmas Eve dinner for Cale's family.  I spent the day cooking on and off and I really enjoyed it.  I swear I do like to cook but it's 10x's more fun when you have time and you don't feel exhausted or rushed.  The kids got to decorate Santa's cookies and once they were done we had to keep Brex from eating them all.

Santa came and was very generous to all of us.  The best was seeing the kids faces as they opened gifts that they really wanted.  Brex was like a mad man opening the gifts faster than we could get them out to everyone.  He didn't care if they were for him or not.  We had so much playing with their new toys and enjoying each others company.  I did get to talk to all of my family and that was really nice. These are from my phone that's why they aren't very good.

Next up was our Anniversary.  10 years baby!!!!  I can't believe it's been that long, it's flown by so fast.  I really do have the bestest hubby in the world.  We've been through so much and I am so grateful that he is by my side.  He makes everything in life simpler, happier, crazier and funnier.  He's my rock and the love of my life!  10years down and eternity to go.  I love you sweetheart!!!

Dan watched the kids for us all day long.  It's been a really long time since we've gotten to spend the whole day by ourselves.  It was so much fun and much needed.  Thank you Dan!!

New Years came up fast.  I took a few days off from work between Christmas, Anniversary and New Years and that was the best decision ever!  Trey and Brex were sick through out all of christmas break and new years eve was no exception.  Trey was running a fever, so we put all the kids to bed around 9pm.  Poor guys they really wanted to stay up but felt so much better the next day.  Cale and I made it past midnight and that was fun. We are not big into new years resolutions but I can say that this year feels like it will be better. Guess we just have to see if that's true or not.

Nativity

We took the kids to Tuachan tonight to see the live nativity.  We saw a sheep and camels and we also got to see Santa Claus. The kids were so good through all the festivities and we all had a blast. This is definitely something we will do again next year and add to our traditions. We also made gingerbread men earlier this week.  The kids had so much fun decorating them all and even more fun eating them.

Polar Express

Trey had his class party this week and the theme was the Polar Express.  Each of the kids made a box and got to parade it through the school and sit in it while they watched the movie.  I was able to take work off and go help out in his class.  We  started the day by reading the book, than we had the parade, than it was cookie decorating time and finally the movie.  They also got to drink hot chocolate with a peppermint candy cane in it.  The best part was watching the kids get so excited when they spotted Trey's train.

O Christmas Tree

We finally got our REAL Christmas Tree and put it up on Monday night. We had Christmas music playing and the kids were flying high with anticipation.  We all had a blast putting on the decorations and the kids covered it in candy canes.  Elle rearranges the ornaments daily and Brex has to touch the lights.  Trey likes eating the candy canes best of all and of course they are always looking to see if there are any new presents under the tree.
