Valentines, Dogtown, Choir and Baseball

Another big blog post because lets face it I'm a total slacker when it comes to the blog nowadays. It's not that I don't want to remember the moments its more of a I just haven't had time to post. So here are the latest activities for us.
Valentines was fun this year.  Each of the kids had to do a box and Trey being 9 doesn't tell us he needs a box until 1 1/2 days before his party for school. Not only does he wait but than he tells us that his class is having a contest for who can do the best one. Well I had the awesome idea to do a baseball but couldn't find a round box in the short time we had to do some shopping.  Lucky for me I work with some amazing women and one of them mentioned that I just get a piñata so that's what we did and he won for the most unique one and unique idea.  Seriously peeps it was worth the money to just buy the piñata and it worked perfect!!!

Brex had a party at preschool and he decorated his red box all by himself. He was pretty proud of it but so over the whole party by the time the teacher asked if he wanted to show the class his box.  He said "Nope" Poor kid just wanted to go home. He had a blast just was done for the day.

Miss Elle was fighting bronchitis that whole week but was adamant about going to the party. She did her box blue and it turned out cute but I didn't get a picture of it. We did get to do spa mud masks and that was a lot of fun for us two.

Next up was the Dogtown 5k!  Part of my family came down to run with Trey!  Elle wanted to but was still recovering from being sick.  My brothers and their future wives came down and ran it along with my nephew Zack and niece Codi.  We had a house full for the weekend and loved it.
Trey did amazing!! The kid hasn't ran in forever and came across the finish line with a time of 25.48! Where he came up with that I will never know but man I couldn't have been prouder of how hard he worked!  He ended up taking 3rd place in his age group and got a bronze medal! This kid never ceases to amaze me! I love his passion for running and life! Below his him crossing the finish line.

The kids got to play at the farm while we waited for all the fam to cross the finish line.  All of the kids got their faces painted.
Here is the group crossing the finish line. 8 total runners from the fam. Way to go guys!
Not only did Trey take 3rd but Brandon did too and Josh took 2nd in his age group.  We represented ourselves! After racing we took the kids swimming and they had a blast of course!  And the biggest news of the weekend was that Dan finally got engaged to Michelle.  Now I have 3 brothers getting married in the next few months! Welcome to the family ladies!

Melissa(Josh), Emily(Brandon) Michelle(Dan)

Elle had a choir concert that included 4 other schools besides hers.  They all sang a couple of songs together and than each school sang 2 by themselves.  It was fun to see her perform in such a big group. I love that she loves to sing. It's something that I use to do and I'm so glad that we get to share that talent.

Also this past weekend Trey and Cale had their 1st club baseball tournament.  We only got to play 2 games out of the 4 because of a massive rain storm but honestly what a great start for our ballers.  Trey was the starting pitcher and I'm not gonna lie, I couldn't breath when I realized that he was pitching first.  I shouldn't have worried because this kid threw like a champ.  He struck out 3 batters in the first inning and had a few more strike outs in the 3 innings that he threw. We played one of the best teams for our first game and he kept the game close and only let them score 2. Our boys played amazing, and kept the game 4-3 and we had a chance to win it. Our 2nd game we lost 6-3 but still a great score for being the first 2 official games that we played together.  I see a bright future ahead for these boys!
These boys are such a fun group of kids and we have loved being apart of it.

Look at my little outlaws(Brex is totally geared out and Elle represents!)

The first base umpire came up to me between our games and said "I have to say that your uniforms are the best that I've ever seen. Your boys look sharp!" Than he asked me if Trey has played before in Cedar and I said no and he said are you sure because I remember him. I than remembered he played with the Vipers for the summer games last year. The ump than told me that he remembers Trey and that he's come such a long way and has had a major confidence boost.  He said that his pitching was some of the best that he's seen in this age group. He said he knew exactly what he was doing up on the mound. Than he told us that who ever is helping him is doing an amazing job and knows what they are talking about!" I told him it's his daddy that is coaching him and he said "I'm excited to see where he goes and I think he will go far."
What an awesome experience for Trey to have.

Funny story with this boy of mine. In between the games(we played back to back) the coach is suddenly yelling my name and I see him walking Trey out of the dugout and Trey's hands are covering his mouth. So I run over and he comes off the field and says his tooth is almost out.  The kid bit down on a protein bar and lost most of his tooth, it was barely hanging on. I didn't even know it was loose. Blood is all over his hands and face. Lucky for me we have awesome moms on the team who have wet wipes and napkins and helped me clean him up.  It was while I was cleaning him up that the ump came and chatted with me. And all of this happened right as our boys are starting the 2nd game.  I tell you what there is always something exciting when it comes to baseball.

Seriously so so so proud of how Trey did on the mound and games. The ump is right about our boys looking sharp! Go Outlaws!!!

Ha it's February!

I can't believe it's already February and boy am I behind.  Here's a recap of what's been happening in our lives.(Beware it might get a little long and picture overloaded.)
Our December was jam packed with lots of activities. One of them being that my littlest sister got married.  We had a blast at the bridal shower and up at the reception.  The kids had so much fun hanging out with their cousins.
 Reception Fun.

We also enjoyed a couple of choir concerts, school programs and a couple of christmas parties.
Elle singing her solo part. She did amazing!!
Brex's christmas party at preschool. They were cowboys this year!
Elle's christmas program at school. They had an Elvis christmas!

We also started basketball with Trey and Elle.  We had quite the time juggling the games and the wedding activities but we made it work.  The kids did a good job this year.

Trey's team ended up in 2nd place with their only loss to the 1st place team.  What a fun group of boys he played with this year.

Elle's team looked a little small compared to other teams but man was her team scrappy!  Don't underestimate the littles.

Of course in Dec we also got our Christmas tree and celebrated christmas.  It's always so much fun to go and get a real christmas tree and than spend the next couple of hours decorating it.  The kids get so excited to put all of their ornaments on the tree.  We've got quite the collection going.

Christmas came and the kids must have been good because they got spoiled rotten.  We had such a great christmas and it was fun to have a chance to relax.
Here we are having a blast love the holidays with this crew!
Miss Elle got everything she wanted including a new scooter and TV.
It was a baseball christmas for this kiddo.  He got a new glove, bat bag, and more baseball related stuff.
This little guy was the cutest. He got a scooter and mini iPad for when we travel.  I can't believe how grown up he looks.

These faces sum up how our christmas went.
Story Time: On Christmas Eve we always watch the Grinch and go look at christmas lights and read the nativity story. Well we watched the grinch but didn't do the lights this year as we weren't feeling well but after the movie we decided to watch the nativity instead of reading it.  How calm and peaceful we felt watching it and remembering the reason for the season. After we watched and talked about it, it still wasn't late enough to send the kids to bed so we decided to play a game of Mario Party on the Wii U. Big mistake…..Anyone that knows us knows that we can get a little bit competitive  when it comes to that game. Well, lets just say we should have watched the Nativity after instead of before. There might have been a few tears but all was forgiven quickly.

No December is complete with out a shout out to my honey! We celebrated our 13th anniversary!  It's amazing that it's already been 13 years. I can't believe how lucky I am to have Cale by my side.  He's the better half of me and I love him so very much! Happy Anniversary Sweets!
We went to dinner in Vegas to celebrate!

We also celebrated Cale's parents 50th Wedding anniversary! What amazing in-laws I have been blessed with!  They are such loving people! Happy 50th to the best in-laws a girl could ask for!

We had a couple of visitors for New Years and had a blast! Auntie Kelz and Cousin Zack came down and spent a few days with us.  We went bowling, to the movies and dinner while they stayed.
Thanks for celebrating the new year with us!

Whew Dec. update is finally done.  It was a fabulous month but so glad it's over…Now onto January.
We resumed basketball again and of course school and baseball continued.  We played our first scrimmage baseball game as The Outlaws and it was so much fun!  We really love our Outlaws team! We also had a visit from our nephew Ty, Uncle Dan and his new girlfriend Michelle.
We had a blast going to the house of jump with them and to Menchies. January slipped by with the day to day activities and now we find that we are in Feb. with Valentines day 3 days away. It's a crazy life we live but we wouldn't have it any other way.
 Outlaws first scrimmage game.
House of jump and crazy pictures

This little guy is the outlaws batboy and is so ready to play ball.
He looks so cute and is so big.

Welcome Feb. and lets hope I get on the ball a little bit more and blog more often.

Thankful

It's November the month that reminds all of us what we are thankful for.  I like to hope that I express my thanks more than 1 month out of 12 but it's nice to have a reminder to do it again.

I'm thankful for this kid.  He's the one that made me a mommy for the very first time! He's humble and sweet and an amazing baseball and soccer player. He is such a great person and you can't help but love him.

I'm thankful for this girl! She's my princess and my firecracker.  She is honest to the bone and isn't afraid to give everyone a chance most times multiple chances.  She's forever my baby girl and I'm so thankful she's mine.

I'm thankful for my baby! He keeps us on our toes and he brings so much laughter to our lives.  He's my go getter and isn't afraid to join in the fun. He completes our family.

I'm thankful for my man! He keeps me going and believes in me. He loves me and all of my faults. He's the best daddy and hubby and I can't imagine life with out him. I thank my lucky stars that he's mine forever and ever!

I'm Thankful for our families. They support us and love us unconditionally and in today's world that is huge!
Lastly I'm thankful for the gospel and this life even with all of it's challenges.

Soccer Season

Fall Soccer Season has ended and boy did we have a great season!  Trey has really come into playing and has done an amazing job this season.  Last year at this time he was getting down the positions and really wanted to score. This year he has become a scoring machine. It's been an awesome experience to see him grow and achieve his goals.
Elle had an okay season.  Her team wasn't the best and that can be hard but she played like a champ and wasn't afraid to put herself out there.  I'm excited to see her continue and can't wait to see what the next season brings.
Brex is back!  Last year at the end of season he was struggling, this year he came back better than ever.  He  had tons of goals and loved playing.

 Trey's team was undefeated
Uncle Brandon came and saw the last games of the season.
Brex dominating the game

Elle and her team.

Last night we had a little family poker game.  Trey is quite the natural and beat his daddy with a set of Jacks to knock him out.
