Goofy
Brex played his last game of soccer on Saturday he did great. His little team is gearing up to play again together in the spring but until then he gets a little bit of a break. To bad the rest of us don't. Trey and Elle start basketball practices next week with games starting the Saturday after that. We don't know what their schedules are yet but I do know that we are not coaching this year :) We had SEP's yesterday and Elle is at a 40 reading level and can read 121 words per minute. By the end of 2nd grade they want the kids to be at a level 20 for reading. I'm thinkin' we don't have a problem with that. She's our smart little whipper snapper. She also finished her goals that she set in Sept. and made new ones. Trey is doing great too. He's where he needs to be which is awesome!
Hamming it up for the team photo.
The other night the boys found one of my swim caps and couldn't wait to try it on. They are so goofy. I love how it's pink!

End of Fall Soccer
Trey and Elle had their last soccer games on Saturday and both did an amazing job. They've both improved so much this season that it's been fun to see them get better. Cale got to coach Brex's team last week and that was fun to see him coach the 3 year olds. Brex really has a super cute team and he scored 2 goals right off the bat. Brex has his last game this Saturday and I'm sure it will be fun to watch. He's loved soccer. He likes to go to practices and games. We are thinking of signing him up for spring with the other 2 kids. Guess we will see how that goes.
In other news the kids are doing great in school. Trey and Elle both went to see the play Shrek at the high school with their classes and Trey went to the symphony at the college. He really enjoyed it. Today he got to eat lunch with his teacher and friend Blaine. It's part of their rewards program. Brex loves preschool and gets upset when it's not his day to go. I get to go into his class every so often and that's been fun for me. One day all the kids came running out with purple hands. I went to help them wash their hands and after we washed the purple off Brex said "mom my hand is pink!!!" The purple paint left their hands pink after it washed off. All the kids thought that was so crazy!
It seems like time is flying right by and I can't believe that we are already getting ready for parent teacher conferences again and for Thanksgiving. Not to mention that Brex's Christmas program in the first week of Dec. It's nuts to think that Christmas is right around the corner. Maybe it will slow down a little bit now that we have our Thursdays and Saturdays back than again there is always something else to fill the time.

Trick or Treatin'
The kids started Halloween at school with their costume parade. Brex went to that and than went to his Halloween party at school. They had games and a trunk or treat. He had so much fun and said he couldn't wait to do more. We had a blast going around to all the houses on Halloween night and the kids got just the right amount of candy. We got to see Jack from the movie Nightmare before Christmas. He was on stilts(picture below) and we saw a grim reaper on stilts too that was cool too. I'm glad Halloween is over and the kids are already planning their costumes for next year.

Carving Pumpkins
We carved pumpkins 2 nights before Halloween. The kids were awesome helpers. Brex and Trey don't like to clean out the seeds but Elle is all over it. We were going to do elaborate designs but decided to stick with the good ol' fashion shapes. They turned out pretty awesome and the kids had a blast!

Pumpkin Patch
Over Fall Break we headed down to Overton to spend the few days off with Cale's parents. While there we went to a pumpkin patch. Each of the kids got to hand pick their own pumpkins. The kids were extra spoiled this year in pumpkins. Every year my parents give them pumpkins from their garden. It's such a fun tradition, one that they look forward to every year. What was awesome about going to the pumpkin patch and getting my parents pumpkins was that we got to carve and spray paint the pumpkins. It was a fun fall break and I think it's now a new tradition to get 2 pumpkins each year.

Even mommy and daddy participated.
Tuachan Mary Poppins
Mary Poppins was one of the plays at Tuachan this year. Elle had begged all summer long to go see it so with a stellar deal on tickets that uncle dan got us we went. Cale's parents and Dan came with us so we had a crowd for sure but we all had a blast! Brex fell asleep about half way through but that's okay. It was a lot better than I thought it was going to be and Elle loved it. She's already asking to go next year and we don't even know what's playing yet.
