Valley of Fire

Over Presidents weekend we went on a picnic to the Valley of Fire.  We went with Cale's parents and had a blast.  I been there once but our kids haven't been at all.  The kids had a blast climbing and playing and having a good ol' time.  It was a beautiful day and we had such a nice visit.  We can't wait to go back for another visit.

This past weekend we went up north for our last State Swim Meet.  Aunt Paula made it to state in 4 events and we had to be there for the last Gibson Hurrah as this ends the era of swimming for us.(At least until the grandkids pick it up.)  We also celebrated Grandpa Gibson's Birthday.  We went up on Friday in a blizzard and man was that fun......we made it in time to watch Friday's events and than the kids went to aunt Shari's house to play while Cale and I went out to eat with my parents and sisters. Saturday we finished at the swim meet and took the whole gang out to eat and than went back home to rest before we played games that night.  The kids had a chance to play in the snow which they LOVED!!! They came in with frozen hands and big grins.  I have to admit that it was fun to be in the snow I miss it..............sometimes.

Sparkle Club makes the newspaper

Elle Belle ended up in the newspaper with the Sparkle Club.  A reporter came to her classroom and interviewed her and some of her fellow Sparkle Club Members.  Here is the article link below.  This group of kids are amazing!

Sparkle Club

I am so proud of this girl right here!

She started what's called the Sparkle Club at school.  This club goes and helps the kids that need help. Plays with those that have no one to play with. If someone is sad, they go over to help cheer them up.  So far there are 15 club members and more joining every day.  What a great club and I have to say I love the name.  Also what an example to me and to all of us. Thank-you sweetie for reminding us how we can become more christ like everyday.

Christmas

 We are finally back among the living after being sick for 5 days. Still not completely better but at least we are functioning. I'm finally getting the pictures up for how our Christmas went.  It was a blast and the kids this season were so good. Here's to a new year.

Day 13-17 and other stuff

It's been quite a week for us.  Brex started last Friday with the stomach flu.  Poor kid puked all weekend and ran a fever.  Trey caught it by the first of the week and here it is Friday and both Cale and I have had it too.  On top of the stomach flu I had a re-treatment on an old root canal boy does that hurt.  Only good aspect is that I've lost some weight from not being able to eat and than being too sick to eat.  I think I slept most of the day yesterday. That's pretty unheard of for me now a days :). On top of all that Brex decided he finally wanted to potty train.  We found him Wed morning on the potty.  Since then he's been in underwear. woohoo!!!  Cale asked Brex yesterday what he wanted for Christmas and he said a shirt, socks and underwear, hahahaha that kid cracks us up. Trey and Elle got to shop at the school store and bought Christmas presents for everyone.  Miss Elle got a present for her cousin Abby and I thought that was so sweet.  Trey didn't forget Uncle Dan in his gift buying either, they are such thoughtful kids. Also the kids are having their christmas parties in school today and Elle has taken her polar express car with her.  I will have to post pictures later it turned out super cute thanks to daddy spending yesterday getting it ready.  

Anyway here's what Lucky has been up too that past few days. 

Day 13 he found himself stuck in our mini basketball hoop

 Day 14 he went fishing and caught a fish.(the kids LOVED this one.)

 Zip line anyone? Day 15 was adventurous.
