Best Of State

Tuesday I got to go up to a banquet at the Salt Palace for the Best of State awards dinner.  My work won the best of state award for public recreation. I got to get all dressed up eat a elegant dinner and was entertained by some of the most amazing performances.  Throughout dinner they had all of the winners go up on stage and get their medals.  After that they then announced who the overall winners were for each of the 10 categories. So can you guess where I'm going............that's right folks we are the 2012 overall winner in the category of Sports and Recreation!  We beat out 13 other best of state winners!  Last year Jimmer won this award. We were a little shocked and totally excited. I'm so glad that I got to go up this year and experience it all!

Happy Birthday Trey!!!

Happy Birthday Trey!!
The big ol' 7 years old.

Here are 7 things about you that I love.

1- One of the biggest surprises we ever had......you were a boy and not a girl.  Daddy went right out and bought you a blue baseball outfit and blanket.

2-You were a brave boy right from the start.  You would give the nurses dirty looks instead of crying when they gave you your shots.

3-You are the sweetest big brother.  You will do anything for your sister and brother.

4-Cars cars and more cars.  I love it how you will still pull out your cars and play for hours with them.

5-You are so smart. I'm scared that in a couple of months I won't have the answers to all your questions.

6-Easy going is what you are.  You don't pass judgement and everyone is a friend.

7-Last but not least what a tease and jokester you are......You keep us laughing.

We absolutely love and adore you buddy!!!

Happy Mothers Day everyone!
This Mothers Day my kiddos put on a puppet show for me.  Trey made up the story and they all drew the pictures, cut them out and taped them to sticks.  It was adorable!!  Trey also made me a pillow in school and that is super cute!  Thank-you kiddos for a fantastic Mothers Day.

 My Boys!
My Kiddos

This week was Cotton Days and my good friend Jackie and I were in-charge of 2nd grade field trips that lasted 3 days and included all the 2nd graders in Washington County. We also run Cotton Fest which is a day filled with vendors, bounce houses, carnival rides and our newest addition this year the ball rollers on water.  Here is a pictures of us at our last event Saturday afternoon.  So glad it's over!

Goal!!

Today was the last day of the soccer season for us.  Trey's team did an awesome job this morning and took 2nd place overall for the season.  The only loss they had was to the team that is in 1st. The had to work hard on todays game, the fell behind by 2 goals early on, but they came back to tie the game.  Trey has had a blast this year and made so many new friends, it's kind of sad to see it end.

Elle scored again and this time it was the first goal of the game!  She positioned herself a little bit down the field and when the ball came to her she turned it around, ran super hard and scored!! Her team is undefeated for this season!  They were amazing and deserve it!  Both kids had awesome seasons and great coaches!  We have had so much fun going to soccer practices and games. Now on to baseball.

Field Day

Last Friday was field day for the kids.  They competed in the 50 meter dash, a relay, the 3 legged race and the long jump.  Trey our little track star took first in his class for the 50 meter dash and took 2nd overall out of all the first graders.  His relay team all took 1st out of the the 1st graders!!! Elle's team took 2nd in the relay.  They had so much fun, and to top off the fabulous day Trey lost his tooth at lunch.  When I picked him up the kids were all trying to tell me how he won and how he lost his tooth.  I think they were more excited for him than he was!!  Good job Trey and Elle you guys did awesome!!
